Important Information for Northern Ireland Customers

From 28th November, the process for moving goods into Northern Ireland and completing customs clearance will change again.
Please review the updated requirements below to help us process your orders efficiently and avoid delays or unnecessary charges.

Checklist – Required Information for Shipping to Northern Ireland

To enable us to dispatch goods to Northern Ireland, we must have the following details:

  • Sender and recipient information: Full name, address, and postcode
  • Type of transaction: B2B or B2C
  • Recipient’s XI EORI number
  • UKIMS Authorisation Number (if goods are not at risk of entering the EU)
    • Without a UKIMS number, all goods must go through a full customs declaration and will default to the Red Lane (at risk), which may result in duties if the goods are not of UK origin.
  • Deferment Account Number (if duties may apply)
  • VAT number, as Northern Ireland operates a dual VAT system
  • Trader Support Service (TSS) registration
    • Aramex uses the TSS to complete customs declarations.
    • Customers must register (free) with TSS for Aramex shipments.
    • DHL/FedEx do not require TSS registration but only offer a limited service
    • If no UKIMS number is provided, the shipment will automatically be routed through the Red Lane.

Courier Cut-Off Times & Service Changes

DHL

  • Daily cut-off: 2:00pm
  • Collection time: 3:00pm

Aramex

  • From 28th November, we will no longer be able to offer a next-day service to Northern Ireland.
  • This is due to several factors, including missing UKIMS numbers and additional export steps.
  • Expected cut-off time: 2:30pm (TBC) Orders placed after this time may not be collected the same day, as extra export processing may be required.
  • Aramex will begin charging for customs declarations from 28th November (pricing still under discussion).

REGISTER WITH TSS

  1. Visit www.tradersupportservice.co.uk.
  2. Create an account and provide your business details.
  3. Obtain GB and XI EORI numbers if not already held.
  4. Complete registration and start using TSS for declarations.
